Cookie policy
A short list of what is stored in your browser and why. Blocking all of it will not stop you reading anything here.
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. This page lists what is used on toptenwonders.com and why.
What this site uses
- A session identifier. A short random value that lets us count one visit as one visit rather than as five page views by five different people. It is not linked to your name and it is not shared.
- Advertising cookies. Set by advertising networks, including Google, to choose adverts and to measure whether they were seen. These are set by those companies, not by us.
- Affiliate cookies. Set when you click through to a booking or shopping partner, so that a purchase can be credited to this site. Typically these expire after a set period decided by that partner.
There is no account on this site, so there is no login cookie, and we do not use cookies to follow you around other websites ourselves.
Turning them off
Every browser can block or delete cookies, usually under settings for privacy or site data. You can also switch off personalised advertising in Google's own ad settings, and through the industry opt out pages run by the Digital Advertising Alliance and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance.
Blocking cookies will not stop you reading anything here. The guides work exactly the same. What changes is that adverts become less relevant and our visit counts become less accurate.
Consent
Where the law requires your permission before advertising or analytics cookies are set, that permission is asked for before they load, and you can change your answer at any time through your browser settings.
